The U-shaped space allows nosy diners to watch the kitchen at work at one end, while the other offers a formal dining room.
The food is British with a twist - fishcakes, sirloin and scrambled eggs with smoked salmon sit alongside more adventurous dishes such as pan-fried duck breast with parsnip puree and prune gravy. Sunday lunches are much appreciated by local families.
